Yyteri is known for its mid-summer beach fun and water sports, but in the darkness of winter and autumn the atmosphere is one of peace, relaxation and tranquillity. At dusk, the hustle and bustle of the day and the glow of the city’s artificial lights are left behind, and Yyteri can be experienced in a whole new way. Natural darkness has become a rare luxury for mankind: only a small proportion of the world’s inhabitants can experience darkness or gaze at the moon and stars. Come and discover Yyteri and its dark side on a peaceful walk, and hear stories about the nautical twilight and the meaning of the rising moon, among other things.

The guided tour is available after dark from September to March.

Starting point: Yyteri square, Kortejärventie 1, Yyteri
Duration: approx. 1 hour 15 minutes
- Mon-Sat until 6 pm 117 €/group
- Sun 207 €/group
Group size: Max 20 persons
Equipment: Warm, weatherproof clothing. A sleeping mat or a seat pad will provide comfort and warmth if you want to lie down to admire the night sky. A headlamp or torch can provide a sense of security, but may not be needed. Yyteri can be slippery in winter, so we recommend wearing sturdy shoes. The trip takes place in cloudy weather as well.
